In a surprising collaboration that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the formal release, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.

The questline focuses on "strange tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses

The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Additional Features

Players who finish the mission will acquire an special katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
